This date is recognized as the date of establishment of the Airborne Troops.<br/>The first Airborne Units of the Red Army – the Airborne Troops – were established and developed in Pushkin in 1929-1940 starting with the first Special Purpose Air Unit and ending with the 201st Leningrad Airborne Brigade of Guards named after S.M.
