Its founder and artistic director was N.V. Belyak, its main designer M.I. Bornstein. At various times, actors V.I. Galperin, Y.A. Demich, E.Y. Ioffe, V.P. Kushnarev, L.Z. Mikhailovsky, V.V. Osipchuk, N.V. Rudik, A.Y. Tolubeev, G.L.Vasilyev, and K.L.Dateshidze worked at the theatre. Productions staged at the theatre include Scenes from Faust, The Stone Guest, Mozart and Salieri, and A Feast During the Plague by Alexander Pushkin; Autumn Boredom by N.A. Nekrasov; Requiem by L.N. Andreev; and Bewitched Town, a performance-excursion for children. The theatre has undertaken several cultural projects such as The House of Delwig (1986), The Day of A Citizen (1988), Izvara (1989), The House of Derzhavin (1990-95), Cosmos - Man - Culture (1990), the opening ceremony of Days of India in St. Petersburg (1994), the Goodwill Games closing ceremony (1994), The Petersburg Carnival (1997), and the opening ceremony of the restored Mikhailovsky Castle (2003). In 1995-2003 an exhibition of theatrical projects devoted to \"the Petersburg myth\" was opened in the theatre quarters on the upper floor of this former apartment house (1903, architect N.A.
