Moved to St. Petersburg around 1800. Many orders for building were fulfilled by him or under his supervision. His most important works in stone in St. Petersburg are several sculpture-groups on the attic of the Bourse building (Neptune with Two Rivers and Navigation, the 1810-20s), rostral columns with four symbolic figures of four Russian rivers (the 1810-20s), the Vasilievsky Island Strelka Embankment, a sculpture composition of the Mining Institute porch (according to the models of sculptor V.I. Demut-Malinovsky and S.S. Pimenov), images of Attic warriors on tower of the Main Admiralty (by models of F.F. Shchedrin), a number of columns for Kazan Cathedral and St. Isaac's Cathedral, and plinths for monuments to M.I. Kutuzov and M.B. Barclay de Tolly (1832-36). He lived in his own house at 50 Pryazhka Embankment.

O. A.
