\n \n ZAVETY (Behests), a monthly literary and political journal, published from April 1912 to August 1914 (with a total of 28 issues released). It was founded on the initiative of the Social-Revolutionary Party leader V. М. Chernov (subsequently becoming its ideological leader), with А. I. Ivanchin-Pisarev (publisher), S. D. Mstislavsky (real name S. D. Maslovsky) and S. P. Postnikov as the journal's effective editors. The editorial bureau was situated at 11 Kosoy (presently Oruzheynika Fedorov) Lane. R. V. Ivanov-Razumnik headed the Literature and Society section. The fiction section published works of А. А. Blok, I. А. Bunin, Е. I. Zamyatin, N. А. Klyuev, А. М. Remizov, М. М. Prishvin, А. N. Tolstoy, I. Volny, Y. K. Baltrushaytis, F. Sologub et al. In the eyes of the authorities and the public Zavety represented the Social-Revolutionary Party. The journal was continuously harassed by the censor and in September 1914 suppressed by the resolution of the Petrograd Chamber of Appeals.
