\n \n VSYAKAYA VSYACHINA (All Sorts and Sundries) a daily satiric magazine, came out under Catherine's II actual supervision in 1769-70 (70 issues). In 1770, beginning with the 53 (1) issue, was published as Baryshek Vsyakoy Vsyachiny. The circulation of the first issue, which was distributed for free, reached more than 1600 copies, gradually reducing to 500 copies. G. V. Kozitsky was its editor. By publishing the Vsyakaya Vsyachina Catherine II attempted to cultivate forms of the European literary process in Russia. The closest prototype of the Vsyakaya Vsyachina, as well as for many other European magazines, was R. Still and D. Addison's English satiric journal The Spectator. The Empress in her articles touched upon acute political issues. The attempt to provide environment for polemics triggered undesirable consequences: the emerging of extremely oppositional to the Vsyakaya Vsyachina magazines Truten, Smes and others. Contrary to Catherine's II expectations, the polemics subject matter was reduced to the choice between a generalised satire (ridicule) of vice (by means of which the Vsyakaya Vsyachina tried to establish a dialogue with the public) and individualised satire of the person. I. P. Elagin, A. P. Sumarokov, A. V. Khrapovitsky, A. P. Shuvalov et al. continuously contributed for the magazine.
