\n \n AGNIVTSEV Nikolay Yakovlevich (1888-1932) was a poet, dramatist. He entered the Faculty of History and Philology of Petersburg University in 1906 but failed to graduate. He had publications in Peterburgskaya Gazeta, Birzhevye Vedomosti, Golos Zemli, in the journals Pyatak, Solntse Rossii, Satirikon and Novy Satirikon, Stolitsa i Usadba. He performed in theatres-cabarets and at the literary-artistic restaurant Vienna. In 1917 he established a theatre-cabaret Bi-ba-bo together with director K. A. Mardzhanov and actor F. N. Kurikhin. He left on tour for Kiev in 1918 with the theatre later called One-Eyed Jimmy. In 1921-23, he was abroad. On his return, he continued cooperating with the same theatre, which had been reopened in Moscow. He perceived St. Petersburg as a fantastical city inhabited with shades of people living now, imagined and already dead. Agnivtsev is the author of several books with poems of lyrical-nostalgic character devoted to St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg, 1921; Brilliant St. Petersburg, 1923 etc.). He wrote a lot for children; contributed to the publishing house Rainbow. In the 1910s, he lived on the 59 Ekaterininsky Canal Embankment (today Griboedova Canal) and on 3 Barmaleeva Street.
