\n \n PUSHKARSKAYA BOLSHAYA STREET (until 1798 - Malaya Ofitserskaya Street), between Syezzhinskaya Street and Kamennoostrovsky Avenue, on Petrogradskaya Side. The road appeared in the first third of the 18th century. In the late 19th - early 20th centuries, it was built up mainly with apartment houses: building 3 (1908, architect D.G. Fomichev), building 14 (1896, architect A.Y. Reinberg), building 26 - the house of D.I. Mendeleev (1900-01, architect A.I. von Gogen). In 1871, Svetoch Factory was founded. In 1955-57, building 11 was constructed by architect N.M. Nazarin), in 1954-56 - building 15 (architect A.P. Shcherbenok), in 1966 - building 48 (architects V.F. Belov, N N. Tregubov, L.I. Shimanovsky). Following cultural figures lived on Pushkarskaya Bolshaya Street: I.P. Pavlov (building 18, 1892-1918), composer D.D. Shostakovich (building 37, 1937-41), artists K.I. Rudakov (building 50, 1934-49) and artist L. S Vivien (building 54, 1958-66). In 1913-14, building 36 housed the metal-workers' trade-union board. Building 50 accommodated the Community of Artists in the 1920s. In building 47, private Deryabkin Museum of Phonographs and Gramophones has been functioning since 1999.
