The street was constructed in the first third of the 18th century. Since 1739, the lot before the Fontanka River was called Chernyshev Lane (after the manor of Count I.G. Chernyshev), and the ground on the other side of the Fontanka River was known as Kurakin Lane (after the manor of Prince A.B. Kurakin), in the second half of the 18th century, it had the name Gneushev Lane (after merchant P.I. Gneushev), the ground from Griboedova Canal Embankment to Sadovaya Street was called Bankovsky Lane. In the early 19th century, all three lots were united under the name Chernyshev Lane. In 1948, the lane was renamed in honour of M.V. Lomonosov. The majority of buildings date back to the 18th -20th centuries: Building 1/28 - Novaya Bankovskaya Line (late 18th century, the middle of the 19th century); Building 2/26 - Maly Gostiny Dvor (1790s, architect G.
