Opened in the late 1830s by restaurateur Legrand, in the 1850s restaurateur Dussault became its owner. The restaurant was famous for its cuisine (N.A. Nekrasov praised the restaurant's cuisine in his poem). At Dussault, entrepreneurs and bankers gathered, and many writers made an appearance. On 10 March 1859, a celebration in honour of actor A.E. Martynov was arranged; at the end of April of the same year, the Petersburg literati (Nekrasov, I.A. Goncharov) gathered at the restaurant to see off I.S. Turgenev, who was going abroad. In the 1880s, Dussault Restaurant was closed down; in the early 20th century the building housed a shop \"for gourmet products”. In the early 1930s, the wing on the side of Kirpichny Lane accommodated the House of Artists. Today, the restaurant's premises house jewelry and clothing stores. The four-story Dussault Restaurant building was constructed in 1837-38 by architect P.P. Jacot according to his own design.

Reference: Бройтман Л. И., Краснова Е. И. Большая Морская.
