A. Ton and decorated in the Italian-Byzantine style. Construction was financed by the treasury, the building cost 311,000 silver roubles; a considerable part of this sum was donated by Emperor Nicholas I. Before the Regiment had used the church in the side wing of the barracks on Moika River Embankment near Potseluev Bridge. Facades of the small chapel were decorated with high porticos, the entrances were decorated with carved portals, the building was crowned by a tall light eight sided drum and a hipped roof, there were four low hipped bell towers in the corners. The iconostasis was done by engraver S. Tarasov from Okhta, icons were painted by artists F. A. Bruni, V. K. Shebuev, P. M. Shamshin, M. I. Scotti, and A. T. Markov, bas-reliefs on the pediment were done by sculptor N. A. Ramazanov. There the regiment's banners, bronze plaques with names of officers, fallen in battle, and royal coats belonging to Russian emperors were shown in special show-cases. Commanding officers of the regiment - Prince A. F. Orlov and Prince V. D. Golitsyn were buried in the crypt. A charitable society supported the children's orphanage attached to the church. In 1928, the church was closed. In 1929, it was demolished, in 1998, space for erecting a memorial chapel was allotted. The former name of Truda Square – Holy Annunciation Square originates from the Holy Annunciation Church.

References: Холмовский В. А.
