Graduated from the College of Civil Engineers (1904). His early works include: the mansion of M.A. Savitskaya (now the town of Pushkin, 15 Moskovskaya Street, 1904-05). In the mid-1900s, he developed his individual variation on the Northern Modern style influenced by Finnish and German architecture. The apartment house of A.F. Bubyr is an outstanding example of this style (11 Stremyannaya Street, see Bubyr's house). The exterior of Cathedral Mosque (7 Kronverksky Avenue, 1909-20, in cooperation with S.S. Krichinsky and A.I. von Gogen), uses methods of traditional Middle Eastern architecture combined with the Northern Modern style. Vasilyev participated in projecting of the apartment complex of the Basseinoe Brotherhood (currently, 58-60 Nekrasova Street, 10-12 Grechesky Avenue, 1912-14, in cooperation with E.F. Wirrich, A.I. Zazersky, Bubyr); in St. Petersburg he erected the industrial corps of the Brotherhood of Nevsky Cotton Manufactory ( 62 Bolshoy Sampsonievsky Avenue, 1911), the apartment house of R.A. Diderichs (104 Bolshoy Avenue of Petrogradskaya Side, 1912-14, in cooperation with Bubyr). He made a special contribution to the development of proto constructivist trend of the Art Nouveau style as seen in the buildings of the Trade House of Guards' Economical Society (21 Bolshaya Konushennaya Street, 1908-09, in cooperation with E.F. Wirrich, S.S. Krichinsky etc.) and the New Passage (57 Liteiny Avenue, 1912-13). He resided at 22 Novoisaakievskaya Street, at 14 Alekseevskaya Street, 57 Kamennoostrovsky Avenue, 17 Admiralteisky Canal Embankment. In 1918, he left St. Petersburg, from 1923 lived in the USA and worked as an architect, illustrator, and designer.

References: Исаченко В. Г., Лисовский В. Г.
