The Malo-Kalinkin Bridge over Griboedova Canal at the Fontanka River Embankment was built around 1783 (engineer I. N. Boris) as a wooden three-span bridge (the central pivoting span was replaced in the second half of the 19th century), with rough-hewn stone piers faced with granite. In 1907-08, the bridge was extended, the timber beams replaced with metal ones. In 1952 and 1970, the torch lamps (architect A. K. Rotach) and obelisks on the piers were restored. Length: 27.7 metres, width: 16.2 metres. Novo-Kalinkin Bridge over Obvodnoy Canal, on Staro-Petergofsky (Old Peterhof) Avenue was built in 1834-36 (engineer P.P. Bazen, Y. Sedov). In 1876, it was rebuilt as a three-span bridge, with timber decks, cast-iron column piers, brick abutments faced with granite. It was fitted with cast-iron banisters, with elegant patterns, and torch lamps. In 1929-30, the bridge was rebuilt as a reinforced concrete single-span opening spandrel arch bridge (engineers O.Е. Bugaeva, B.D. Vasilyev) with concrete parapets. In 1996-98, sidewalks were extended, the drive way was replaced with a solid reinforced concrete slab, banister railing and lamps were installed, and the piers repaired (engineer А.А. Zhurbin). Length is approximately 34 metres, width: 22.1 metres. Staro-Kalinkin Bridge, over the Fontanka River, on Staro-Petergofsky Avenue, was built in 1786-87 (engineer P.K. Suchtelen, I.K. Gerard) as a three-span stone bridge at the site of a wooden one, which existed in 1737. In 1892-93, the opening span was replaced with a brick arched vault with granite arches on the facade (architect М.I. Ryllo). In 1907-08, the bridge was repeatedly extended with granite vaults from the upper and lower sides. The granite towers and pier parapets have been preserved. In 1965, the granite obelisks with lanterns, the benches on the abutments and the parapets between the driveway and sidewalks were restored (architect I.N. Benois). In 1986-87, the lanterns and memorial plaques on the towers were reconstructed (architect V.M. Ivanov). Length: 65.6 metres, width: 30 metres.<br/><br/>D. Y. Guzevich, S. Z. Suponitsky, N. M.
